Chicory with ham


  • 4 chicories
  • 8 slices of ham with no visible fat
  • 150 g of emmentaler cheese
  • 8 leafs of sage
  • 2 spoons of olive oil
  • 3 spoons of orange juice
  • salt and pepper


Pre-heat the oven to 200°C. Cut the chicory half.  Heat the sage leafs and orange juice on olive oil. Place the chicory on the pan flat side down. Fry for 5 minutes on medium gas, and remove from the cooker. Place the sage leafs on the top. Season with salt and pepper. Wrap chicory in ham and put in the ovenproof dish. Add grated cheese, drizzle with olive oil and bake for 20 minutes.

*Chicories might have a bitter aftertaste. To make them sweeter, you can add more orange juice.
